The 2013 RS eurocup will be held in Carnac at the end of May 2013. This is a truly great sailing water in the sheltered Quiberon bay, warm water , winds well suited to vareos. Great food , plenty of camping or houses to rent. Carnac is in southern Brittany, about 2.5 hrs drive from St Malo, or 4-5 hrs from Cherbourg or Caen. Beatiful beaches , a good place for a family holiday at half term combined with a bit of sailing. It would be really good to get this International Class truly international. I have had a number of postive inquiries,including Spain & other members who live on the continent, so I am hopeful we will get a quorum next year. The association will ask for entries in january/february & usually organises a ferry deal . There is no particular need to book accomodation very early at that time of year.

It's a shame that the Carnac event has fallen through for the Vareos, but great to see a growing fleet in the Benelux area.
Perhaps the UK fleet should now consider an alternative Dutch area european event this year?
There are lots of great events that would welcome us, some with other RS fleets already in attendance - e.g. Skiff Benelux - http://www.skiffbenelux.com/ e.g. 4th May Aquavitesse RS event.
Lots of ferry crossings always to that area, including budget ones via Dover.
And an active yahoogroup member in Arwin, any thoughts?

You're all invited to join the Open Dutch Skiff Trophy September 14/15!

This year's event will be joined by the European events of the RS500, RS700 & RS800 class & most likely the RS100 ( not yet confirmed). RS is in close contact with Aquavitesse for the arrangements for this event and race committee will be, as previous years, by RS.

The Venue is well suited in a beautiful marina at Europe's largest salt water lake 'Grevelingen' and accommodation is available from nice bungalows to camping grounds.

So give it a thought!
